Privacy policy
This policy covers sundryworks.co.nz only — the corporate site of Sundry Works Limited. Each web property the company operates publishes its own separate privacy policy, because each collects different information.
What this site collects
Very little. Apart from the contact form described below, this site is a set of static pages. It has no accounts, no sign-up form, no shopping cart, no comment section, no analytics script, no advertising and no social media embeds. It runs no JavaScript in your browser. It sets no cookies of its own and does not use local storage.
The one thing that does happen is ordinary web server logging. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare Pages, records standard request data when a page is served:
- the IP address the request came from
- the date and time of the request
- the page or file requested
- the browser user-agent string and referring page, where the browser sends them
This is generated automatically by the act of serving a web page. We use it only to keep the site available and to investigate abuse, faults and attacks. We do not use it to build a profile of you, we do not combine it with anything else, and we do not sell or share it. Cloudflare processes this data as our hosting provider under its own terms, and may hold it outside New Zealand.
The contact form
The contact form on our home page asks for your name, your email address, an optional organisation, and your message. We collect those four things for one reason: so we can read your enquiry and reply to it.
When you press send, the form posts to a small handler running on Cloudflare's network, which passes the message straight to our own inbox by email and keeps no copy of its own. Nothing is written to a database, and the form does not set a cookie.
Two providers touch the message on its way to us: Cloudflare, which runs the handler, and a third-party email delivery service that carries it to our inbox. Both act on our instructions and neither is permitted to use your message for its own purposes. Like most internet infrastructure, both operate outside New Zealand, so your message will be transmitted and briefly held overseas before it reaches us.
We hold the resulting correspondence for as long as it is relevant, and for any period the Companies Act 1993 or the Tax Administration Act 1994 requires business records to be kept. We do not add correspondents to a mailing list, we do not use your message to build a profile, and we do not pass it to anyone else.
The form includes a hidden field that people never see and never fill in. If it arrives completed we discard the message as automated, without reading or storing it. It collects nothing about you.
We publish a form rather than an email address to reduce automated scraping. Our reply comes from an address on this domain, so you can carry on by ordinary email from that point, and ask us for a postal address if you would rather write.
Cookies and tracking
This site sets no cookies and runs no tracking of any kind. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary cookie for security and bot mitigation; it is not used to track you across sites.
The properties we operate
The web properties listed on our home page are separate sites. Several of them are expected to carry advertising, use analytics, or sell digital products, and those activities involve collection this corporate site does not do. Each property publishes its own privacy policy describing exactly what it collects. This policy does not apply to them, and theirs do not apply to this site.
Your rights
The Privacy Act 2020 gives you the right to ask whether we hold personal information about you, to ask for a copy of it, and to ask us to correct it if it is wrong. Send that request through the contact form and we will respond within 20 working days, as the Act requires.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a privacy matter, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
Changes to this policy
If what this site collects changes, this page changes with it and the date below is updated. We do not keep an archive of previous versions.
